The semi caught fire in the southbound lanes of Hwy. 52 at the intersection of 490th St., which is just north of Pine Island.

Responding firefighters found the semi had started on fire and saw the flames spreading to the vehicles being hauled on the trailer.
Crews extinguished the blaze before it could spread to six additional vehicles, officials say.
The driver, described as a 30-years-old, was treated at the scene by an ambulance crew for minor injuries, the news release says. Authorities have not released the operator’s name.
Officials say the semi’s cab, along with three vehicles on the trailer, were destroyed by the fire. The cause of the fire is not available.
Emergency crews were at the scene for about two hours. The Minnesota Department of Transportation responded to the scene to treat the highway, which had become frozen after the firefight, the news release says.
Members of the Goodhue County Sheriff’s Office, Zumbrota Police Department, State Patrol and SAC Towing also responded to the scene.
