The 10 Phases of Spring in Minnesota

So without further ado, let's take a look at the 10 phases of spring in Minnesota and see where we think we're at right now.

PHASE 1: Fake Spring

Do not let fake spring get you! It happens every year, the weather starts to get warmer, and you're hoping it sticks around.

PHASE 2: Things Start to Melt

But wait, the snow is starting to melt, and grass (ok, dead grass) is popping up around town.

PHASE 3: Could this be Real Spring?

Could this be real spring? Is spring coming early this year?

PHASE 4: Abnormally Warm Day

Ok, this must be real. It's just too warm out for it not to be real spring.

PHASE 5. Winter Part 2

NOPE! I told you not to get your hopes up. Mother Nature always likes to play jokes on us between winter and spring.

PHASE 6: Ok, Maybe This Spring is For Real

But then it starts to warm up again, and the snow starts to melt again. Maybe it's legit this time around.

PHASE 7: April Blizzard

Ahhhh... never mind. Gotta have that inevitable April blizzard!

PHASE 8: Actual Spring?

Ok, third times the charm, right?

PHASE 9: Denial

Nope, you fooled me twice already, Mother Nature; it won't happen again.

PHASE 10: Spring!

Wait, it really is spring! The temperatures keep getting warmer, plants are starting to bloom, and it's beautiful outside!

Where do you think we're at right now in the phases of spring? I think we might be around phase 4, especially with how warm this weekend will be, but I could also see us only being in phase 1.

It's so early in the year that we are definitely going to be getting another taste of winter at some point, so we might as well enjoy the warmer weather while it's here.
