First, depending on how far you need to go, you can walk. Downtown Rochester is quite walkable.

Bike to Work Day in Rochester, MN

Coming up on Friday, May 16th it's Bike to Work (or anywhere) Day. This isn't just being promoted in Rochester, people across the country are being encouraged to participate thanks to The League of American Bicyclists.

All of May is actually National Bike Month, which was established back in 1956. The League of America Bicyclists writes that National Bike Month "is a chance to showcase the many benefits of bicycling — and encourage more folks to [give] biking a try."

Whether you’re riding for fun, fitness or with family, or taking essential trips to work or shop, you are part of our movement for safer streets, connected communities, a healthier planet, and happier people.

If you'd like to take your participation to the next level, that whole week, May 12th-18th is Bike to Work Week. Give biking to work a try that week and see what you think!
