A stage musical based on the life of Joe Mauer is coming to Minneapolis' Stages Theatre Company in April.

"The Right Thing To Do: The Joe Mauer Story" is a book written by longtime Minnesota sportscaster Joe Schmit and was published in early 2024.

The book tells the story of Mauer from childhood to Major League Baseball and highlights his friendship with a blind classmate and other charitable works he has done over the course of his life.

Now, the book has been made into a musical! With a run time of 60 minutes, the play is perfect for people of all ages.

With vibrant music, unforgettable characters, and a message that resonates beyond the baseball field, The Right Thing To Do reminds us that every act of kindness, no matter how small, has the power to create a ripple effect that transforms our communities and unites us in ways we might never expect.

JOE MAUER MUSICAL TICKET COST 

The show opens on April 10th and runs through May 10th.

Tickets for kids 2-17 are just $16, with adult tickets priced at $18. There is a pay-what-you-can performance scheduled for April 12th, a sensory-friendly performance on April 25th and an American Sign Language interpreted performance on May 3rd at 1 p.m..
