We've all heard of horses, dogs and even turtles racing around a track. However, Canterbury Park in Shakopee is going to run a race with an animal you've probably never seen before... a unicorn!

(I am allowing for the fact that maybe you have seen a couple of llamas square off in a race... Unlikely, but likelier than unicorns I guess?)

CANTERBURY PARK UNICORN RACES

The horse racing track just over an hour from St. Cloud is will feature 'Mythical Magic at The Park'  on Sunday, July 26th, 2026, when they bring out animals like unicorns, llamas and others for 'enchanting races' throughout the day.

Experience Mythical Magic at The Park, as Unicorns and Llamas take the track for enchanting races, in between Live Racing! Don't forget to enjoy all other Pepsi Family Day activities including exclusive Meet & Greets with the Llamas!

Admission to the event includes crafts, an arcade and a chance for kids to run the race track. Pony rides and face painting are also available from 12:30-3:30 p.m. for an additional cost. There is also a 'gigantic' Pepsi Playground on site as well.

Live horse racing will still happen as usual, with the special events happening in-between the racing.
