The warmer weather is upon us, and getting outside to enjoy the area here is what a lot of people plan to do. And with as many lakes as there are here in Minnesota, swimming is a popular way to cool off and enjoy the bodies of weather here.

Of course, the first step in having all the fun that can be had, is to be able to swim. Teaching your kids at an early age how to swim is so important since there are so many lakes and bodies of water here.

If your child needs to learn how to swim, there is still time to teach them before the bulk of the summer gets here.

Lessons are being taught at the Becker Community Center starting on Tuesday. The lessons will be taught on Tuesdays and Thursdays. If you feel your child would respond better with you in the water with them, that option is available.

The cost of the group lessons is $65 for members, and $75 for non-members. If you want to get in the water with your child, it’s $55 for the parent-child combo that are members of the Becker Community Center, and $65 for non-members who wish to get in the pool with their child.

You can register online here.

There are also individual lessons available being taught as well. For these lessons you can contact the Becker Community Center at 763-200-4274, or email ekeenan@ci.becker.mn.us.

Having your kids ready to swim is important, but also having them ready to have countless hours of fun moving forward.
