How Much Does The Tooth Fairy Pay Out In Minnesota?
Losing a tooth was a whole ordeal when I was a kid. First it would get kind of loose, which was an uncomfortable feeling- especially if it was a front tooth that made it hard to chew food.
Then, it would become looser and looser but would never seem to just cleanly come out the way you'd like it to. Then, after twisting and half-heartedly pulling on it, it would suddenly come out in a disgusting, plaque-covered mess.
Did anyone else think that your teeth are way tinier than expected when you take them out? They feel much bigger in your mouth!
HOW DOES THE TOOTH FAIRY WORK?
The reward? Putting that tooth under your pillow and waiting for the Tooth Fairy to sneak into your room at night to lift your pillow while you slept and, in my case during the 1980''s, leave you a couple of quarters for your trouble while stealing your tooth.
(Side note: who comes up with this stuff?)
TEETH NO EXCEPTION TO INFLATION
Well, it's now 2026 and times have changed. That Snickers bar you could buy for .50 back then is now nearly $3. A gallon of gas that cost .89 is now nearly $4.00. And, the value of a lost baby tooth has also risen over time.
Delta Dental's "Original Tooth Fairy Poll" has been conducted annually since 1998, when the value of a lost tooth was just over $1.00.
HOW MUCH DOES THE TOOTH FAIRY LEAVE IN THE UNITED STATES?
In 2026, the Tooth Fairy leaves an average of $5.84 per tooth in the United States... and $8.00 per tooth in Canada!
The Northeast gets the most money per tooth at $6.45, which is a 41% jump year-to-year. The west coast averages about $5.99 per tooth, which is just a 5% jump from last year, and the southern part of the country averages $5.89.
HOW MUCH DOES THE TOOTH FAIRY GIVE IN MINNESOTA?
In Minnesota, and the rest of the Midwest, teeth are worth an average of $5.27, reflecting the largest year-to-year jump at 52%.
So, unlike in years past when the Tooth Fairy could just cobble together some change from their couch on the way to your bedroom, they will instead have to hit up the ATM.
