A&E's Flagship show and one of televisions highest rated cable shows has officially been cancelled.

This is a critical time in our nation’s history and we have made the decision to cease production on Live PD. Going forward, we will determine if there is a clear pathway to tell the stories of both the community and the police officers whose role it is to serve them. And with that, we will be meeting with community and civil rights leaders as well as police departments.

According to Deadline, the decision to axe Live PD was made by A&E and the shows producer, MGM's Big Fish Entertainment. This decision comes just days after the Paramount axed Cops after a 33 year run. Live PD host, Dan Abrams, took to twitter to share his thoughts with #LivePDNation.

Live PD first aired in 2016 hosted Dan Abrams with Tom Morris Jr. and Police Sgt. Sean "Sticks" Larkin providing analysis. Since its launch, cable television saw many imitators of the show but none proved to be as successful as Live PD.
