The Lonsdale Aces scored 9 runs over their last 4 at bats to overcome a 8-0 deficit after 4 innings against Shakopee in DRS League playoff action.

The game in Lonsdale was a perfect example of needing to record 27 outs to get a win.

The Coyotes had a 8-4 lead going into the bottom of the 8th inning when the Aces erupted for 5 runs on 6 hits to take the lead.

Adam Fjerstad took the mound in the top of the 9th and struck out the side to end the game.

Joe Sabal started the game for Lonsdale.  He went the first 2 and 2/3 innings before being lifted during a 13 batter, 9 hit Shakopee third inning.

Jesse Nystrom opened the inning with a full count single followed by a Logan Becker double. Jack Jones then singled putting the Coyotes firmly in business.

Cleanup hitter Zach Hoffman stroked a single to keep the line moving.  Following a fielder's choice Jeff Hohenstein had a RBI single.  Josh Dvorak also had an RBI hit with two strikes on him.

Mason Bode smacked a two run single.  Before the inning ended Logan Becker had his second hit of the inning and third of the game in the first three innings.

Zach Hoffman would extend a terrific at bat to the 9th pitch thrown by Aces starter Joe Sabal to start the 4th inning.  Hoffman then clubbed a solo homer to end the Coyotes scoring.  It was Shakopee 8, Lonsdale 0.

The Aces would not score until the bottom of the 5th inning.  Ross Beumer opened the inning with a double.  Following a strikeout Jack Skluzacek would have a infield single placing runners at the corners.

Devin Vosejpka hit a sacrifice fly to score the first run. Brad Davis had a double followed by a 2 run double hammered by Isaac Pint.

Lonsdale scored a run in the 7th inning when Davis hit a single, went to second on a wild pitch and scored on an error.

Isaac Pint toed the pitching rubber for four scoreless innings allowing 3 hits to keep the Coyotes from extending their lead.

In the bottom  of the 8th inning Buemer and Zach Breedan opened with singles.  Following a pop out Vosejpka hit an RBI single, Davis had a infield single that loaded the bases for Pint.

Pint took a 0-1 pitch to left center field for a bases clearing double tying the game.  #9 hitter in the Aces order  Jordan Yetzer had a 1-2 count before he connected for the game winning hit.

Lonsdale will play at Union Hill in Region 3C opening round action Sunday afternoon at 4:00 p.m.

Prior Lake edged Veseli 6-5 to advance to play Faribault Sunday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. at Bell Field in Faribault.

St. Benedict evened their series with Webster by winning 7-0 in New Prague.  The two teams play in Lonsdale Friday night at 7:30 p.m. with the winner going to St. Patrick Sunday at 1:00 p.m.
