'Looney Tunes' was a huge part of my childhood growing up! Watching all the silly antics of Bugs, Daffy and Foghorn Leghorn was almost a requirement to watch on Saturday Mornings! The HBO Max reboot of the Warner Bros. show with try to capture that same feeling but with some changes, no guns.

Two of the most iconic 'Looney Tunes' characters are the hunter, Elmer Fudd, and the guns blazing cowboy, Yosemite Sam. These two will see a change to their character design as they will not be sporting their iconic rifle and dual pistols, respectively. This was confirmed by Peter Browngardt in an interview with The New York Times. This is done in hopes of discouraging gun violence while preserving the original "feel" of the show.

Cartoony violence is the the main shtick of the 'Looney Tunes' cartoons. That will not be changed, so you can still expect to see ACME brand TNT and anvils being dropped on Wile E. Coyote. Elmer Fudd and Yosemite Sam however will be carrying around something different as Fudd will be sporting a scythe and Sam a grass hook.

We’re going through this wave of anti-bullying, everybody needs to be friends, everybody needs to get along. Looney Tunes is pretty much the antithesis of that. It’s two characters in conflict, sometimes getting pretty violent. - Johnny Ryan
