This spring is so wild. *How wild is it?* It's so wild that there's a ski resort in Minnesota that's opening up to skiers again this weekend! Yes, it's still the beginning of May, no need to check your calendar.

As you probably guessed, this ski resort is up in northern Minnesota. It's the Lutsen Mountains that will be reopening, specifically, the Eagle Mountain will reopen on Saturday only. They shared the news on their Facebook page on Wednesday.

This news makes me a little worried. That might sound like a strange reaction but I'm going on vacation up in Lutsen next weekend... and this weekend they're opening up the ski slopes again. A cold weekend is not what we were hoping for when this trip was booked.

However, in Lusten Mountains' announcement about the one-day opening, they say that on Saturday the high is around 50, so not terrible. But the snow on the slopes measures about 30+ inches. Plenty for skiing. So if you have an itch to get out and ski (or snowboard) again, here's your chance! And to do it in May is kind of crazy. Lusten Mountains says that this will be their latest closing day ever.

I guess when I go up for my vacation I just won't go into the Lutsen Mountain area. I want winter to be over, I don't want to even look at the snow, so I'll just avoid that area!

If you plan to head up to the northern Minnesota area, for skiing or not, consider staying in this beautiful cabin overlooking Lake Superior. Keep scrolling for pictures.
