Majority Of Minnesota State Workers Consent To COVID-19 Vaccine/Testing Requirements

In a letter from Minnesota's Office of Management and Budget to a sitting Minnesota State Senator, it appears that nearly all of those state workers that have been required to submit to weekly testing or get vaccinated for COVID-19 have agreed to those terms. Less than 3% of those required by the state have not consented to either.

The letter to Senator Abeler from Minnesota's Office of Management and Budget's Commissioner Jim Schowalter goes into detail after Senator Abeler questioned "how many employees have either refused to sign the release form or indicated it was being signed under duress?"

Schowalter wrote that "Across cabinet agencies, approximately 523 employees have not submitted proof of vaccination or consent for testing. This includes seasonal workers who may not be working at this time. Individuals will not be tested through employer testing if they do not consent to testing, including those individuals who state that they are consenting “under duress.”

According to KSTP's Theo Keith, "more than 20,000 workers for the State of Minnesota are required to be in the office" so that results in less than 3% of the eligible workforce for the testing/vaccination requirements not consenting.
