The Minnesota Department of Agriculture will be awarding up to $50,000 in Agriculture Growth, Research and Innovative grants to eligible institutions that will increase the use of Minnesota dairy in their nutrition programs. The Milk Cooler Grant program is designed to help schools, early care and education programs with the cost of buying milk coolers and related dairy equipment. Each organization or school district can apply for up to $1,500 per milk cooler. Each school district or organization can apply for a maximum of three milk coolers.

I think almost all schools now have pop machines. When I was in high school the only pop machines were in the Faculty Lounges. So, why not give students a "healthy choice" and have milk coolers next to the pop machines in the cafeteria or commons areas? The deadline to apply for the Milk Cooler Grant is April 4, 2019. For more information go to the Minnesota department of Agriculture's Milk Cooler Grant website.
