The Medford girls' basketball team improved to 8-0 on the season with a late rally, handing Waterville-Elysian-Morristown their first loss of the season Friday night 48-44. While the Tigers led for a significant portion of the game, they needed a big play late to pull out the come-from-behind win.

Down a point late, Izzy Reuvers drilled a three-point for the win in the closing seconds. The Medford bench had a great view of the shot according to coach Mark Kubat who spoke on the KRFO Coaches Show Saturday morning. Emma Kniefel hit a pair of free throws for the final margin.

Medford (8-0) is off until January 3, 2019 when they host Mabel-Canton. It will be rematch from the volleyball section tournament. A match won by the Tigers on their way to a state runner-up finish.
