The #9 Class A ranked Medford Tigers swept Bethlehem Acacdemy in Faribault tonight by scores of 25-18, 25-15, 25-21.  Errors were the story of the night for the Cardinals.  In the first set Bethlehem Academy had 14 errors meaning Medford scored just 9 offensive points.

Cardinals Head Coach Chris Bothun said her statisticians counted 42 total errors in the three sets.  There were 10 service errors, 23 hitting errors in the three sets.

Meanwhile Medford had 19 total errors according to my unofficial statistics.  Tigers junior 6'0 Kinsey Kronin led everyone on the floor with 13 kills according to my unofficial statistics.  Senior Emma Kniefel had 9 kills, senior Izzy Reuvers added 5 kills for the Medford attack.

The Tigers are now 13-6, 3-2 in Gopher Conference action.  Bethlehem Academy is 5-13, 2-2 in conference play.  The Cardinals are 10-36 in sets.  Medford is 33-15 overall in sets.

The Faribault State Farm Insurance agents Faribault players of the game were senior Lexi Boyd with a very efficient 10 kills and no hitting errors.  Classmate Haley Lang did a little bit of everything for her team with a couple ace blocks, an ace serve, 17 digs and a couple kills.  Freshman Lindsay Hanson was also efficient with 6 kills and just one hitting error.

Libero Brianna Raddatz led the team with 19 digs.  Freshman Kate Trump smacked 4 kills with 11 digs.  Freshman setter Reagan Kangas was 31 of 32 in sets with 9 assists.  Sophomore Kaitlyn Kotek had 7 assists on 50 of 54 sets and added 3 dump kills.

Medford participates in the Cannon Falls Invitational Tournament this weekend.  Tuesday they travel to Blooming Prairie before closing out their regular season on October 14 at New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva.

Bethlehem Academy hosts New Life Academy Tuesday and goes to Hayfield next Thursday.

KDHL will be broadcasting the Cardinals matches at Owatonna on the 14th and home against Waterville-Elysian-Morristown on the 15th.
