Minnesota-Based Hormel Is Giving Away Bacon-Scented Wrapping Paper For The Holidays
Austin Minnesota-based Hormel is going to make any of your presents stick out from the rest with the sweet smell and look of their thick-cut bacon, with their very own bacon wrapping paper. But, as tempting as it might be it is not meant to eat.
So how can you get your hands on this unique wrapping paper? All you have to do is enter on the Hormel Website by 11/26/21 at 12 AM CST. Winners will be randomly selected on 11/26/21. According to the Star Tribune: Sam Hovland, senior brand manager for Black Label bacon said in an interview.: "This is a unique opportunity for us, something fun and silly for us to do around the holidays."
The company will give away "several thousand" bacon-wrapped packages, though it won't be selling individual rolls of gift wrap this year. Plus, Hormel will be donating $1to the Salvation Army's Angel Tree program for every entry, up to $10,000. Last year Hormel released a bacon-scented face mask. As much as I love bacon I would not have been able to tolerate wearing one of those.
Adding to the humor of this whole promotion Hormel enlisted the help of Coolio to help pitch the wrapping paper and also demonstrate a delicious way to make a bacon-wrapped turkey breast for the holidays. Many people may not be aware of the fact that Coolio has established himself as quite the cook. He has published a book called "Cooking With Coolio" and also has a web-based cooking show by the same name.
I entered the contest because I think this is absolutely hilarious. All I know is if I win some of this wrapping paper I am going to have to keep that present in a safe place so my dogs do not try to eat it! Check out the video below for some cooking tips from the man himself!
