A Minnesota father has posted a $10,000 reward to the person who gives information to convict the person who sold his son a fatal dose of Fentanyl. The post, which has been shared over 300 times is the real deal according to the father of Jake Cornick, Hugh.

The post, which has been now shared more than 300 times, came at a cost, Hugh's son Jake died on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 "tragically and unexpectedly" at the age of 21 at his home.

According to an online obituary for Jake from the Albert Lea Tribune, he "had a relentless passion for fitness, MMA, and Flips n Tricks."

I reached out to Jake's father Hugh to learn more about the reward, and he simply replied to me that the "reward is real" and this his "son is gone."

Online data in regards to Fentanyl overdoses in Minnesota show that they have been on the rise recently with data from 2020 being shared in 2021, showing that the level of drug overdoses went up.

"The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) reported an increase of 27% in drug overdose deaths from 2019 to 2020, going from 792 Minnesotans dying from an overdose in 2019 to 1,008 dying from an overdose in 2020. The trend shows each month in 2020 had a higher number of overdose deaths than the same month the year before." - Minnesota Department of Health

Preliminary data show a 59% increase from 2019 to 2020 for all opioid-involved deaths among Minnesota residents (412 to 654 deaths). Deaths involving synthetic opioids, including fentanyl and fentanyl analogs, increased 81% (298 to 539 deaths), and were involved in 82% of all opioid-involved deaths. - Minnesota Department of Health

Fentanyl is an extremely powerful drug that according to the CDC website: "Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine."
