The Minnesota Volleyball Coaches Association high school polls for all four classes have been released at the halfway point of the current season.

The Faribault Bethlehem Academy Cardinals dropped from #6 to #7 in Class A after going 3-0 at the Class A Showcase in Burnsville last weekend.  The Cardinals defeated Henning, Fosston and Walker-Hackensack-Akeley and dropped matches to Canby and Legacy Christian.

The matches they lost were competitive and in fact could have gone either way.  Mabel-Canton was in the same tournament and defeated Kittson County Central, Cleveland and Henning while losing to Legacy Christian and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton.  The Cougars are still #4 in Class A.

Mayer Lutheran stays atop the smallest schools after going undefeated at the Class A Volleyball Showcase in Burnsville. They downed Minneota in three sets.  Legacy Christian, Lake of the Woods, Henning and Russell-Tyler-Ruthton.

Cleveland fell from #7 to #9.  Kenyon-Wanamingo still received votes.

In Class AA Cannon Falls stays in the #3 spot after going 3-2 in the AA Showcase in Burnsville.  Wins over Belle Plaine, LItchfield, and Caledonia.  Losses to top ranked Southwest Christian (in 3 sets) and Maple Lake (3 sets) evidently were impressive enough for coaches to keep them ranked in the #3 spot.

Waterville-Elysian-Morristown also participated in the AA Volleyball Showcase and lost to Caledonia, Watertown-Mayer, Maple Lake and Barnesville. They defeated Redwood Valley.  The Buccaneers have been dropped from the Top 10 and are in others receiving votes.

Class AAA is unchanged in the top 5 except Kasson-Mantorville moved up from #6 into a tie at #5 with Byron.  The Bears go to Kasson-Mantorville on Friday.

In the biggenst schools division Eagan moved from #4 to #2.  Eden Prairie moved from #7 to #3.  Shakopee dropped from #2 to #4.  Lakeville North moved up from #9 to #8.  Northfield moved to #9 from #10.  Lakeville South is in receiving votes.
