The annual Ahlman's Guns Shooters Roundup in rural Morristown announced today they are canceling the event.  It had been scheduled for next weekend August 22-23.

Larry Ahlman pointed out in it's 68 years of existence it had never been canceled.  When we visited with a Ahlman's representative during our broadcast of the Morristown Gun Club Independent Youth Trap Shooting Tournament a couple weeks ago they were looking forward to having the event.

Larry Ahlman says, "I thought we had all the bases covered for mask requirements, social distancing, etc. but the Governor added another mandate that prohibits outdoor events of more than 250 people.  Drawing from a five state area with attendance in the thousands, we could not comply and canceling the event was our only option."

"We apologize to all who look forward to the event each year but it's beyond our control.  We plan to come back bigger and better next year and hope you mark the fourth weekend of August on your 2021 calendar."

Ahlman added the Ahlman's Gun Shop will host a one day sale on Saturday, August 22 which will include several tent displays, food vendors, music and more.

"To prepare for the Shooter's Roundup," Ahlman says, "We brought in hundreds of guns, a semi truck load of ammo and lots of clothing and gun accessories for a sale we planned that weekend.  Although the event is cancelled we are still having the sale.  Besides sale items on Saturday our front yard will be filled with merchandise tents operated by factory experts."
