Move Over Gingerbread House, Say Hello To The Meat House
If 2020 has taught me anything it is to expect the unexpected, so when I saw a social media post highlighting a local business selling a tiny house made of meat and cheese rather than the traditional gingerbread house I was intrigued. Check it out.
Grandma's Gourmets in Albert Lea is offering up a Charcuterie Chalet kit, which from the picture seems to include some smoked meat sticks, Prosciutto, salami, some nuts for decorating your sliced meat sidewalk, and a variety of cheeses to be used as your doors, I suppose windows, and of course your landscaping.
Who wouldn't want cheese trees?
I can't be entirely sure if you'll have materials for the snowman, or if the Chalet was built on a lot of melted marshmallows.
I don't think that you'll want to leave this one out as long as you'd leave the gingerbread house, or around a pet/s as it wouldn't make it very long.
Interested parties will part with $40 for the kit, and why not? Chances are it's going to be a socially distanced Christmas so do away with the carbs and go with a semi paleo diet home this holiday season. Plus you'd be helping out a small business trying to make it during the pandemic, and an executive order that limits indoor dining.
Do you have a bar/restaurant that would like to be highlighted? Drop us a line, as we are all in this together, and a dollar today might mean the lights stay on tomorrow.
