We give away a lot of tickets to shows and events at the Xcel Energy Center throughout the course of the year on Power 96. I'd like to take credit for that, but I couldn't make it happen without the generosity of the Xcel Energy Center's Marketing/Advertising and Sales Coordinator, Nellie Gosh. It's because of this relationship that I was able to attend the Earth, Wind and Fire/Chicago "Heart and Soul Tour" show at the "X" on Saturday night as a guest in their suite. I was finally able to meet Nellie in person -- she was a great host -- and there was a delicious spread of snacks, treats and beverages available. She was also nice enough to take a picture with me during intermission between bands, which I included in some of the pictures I took at the show.

The night started out at 7:30PM with both bands taking the stage for a few songs, alternating between each band's hits. Then Chicago left the stage, leaving Earth, Wind and Fire to run through several of their hits and fan favorites. There was a short intermission before Chicago took the stage, performing many of their hits and wowing the crowd with an amazing drum solo/drum off between their drummers. Once their set came to a close they were once again joined by Earth, Wind and Fire as they did a little back and forth covering each others hits, wrapping up the night with "25 or 6 to 4." Both bands treated the audience to a night of high-energy music, taking us all on a musical journey back through rock history.
