Minnesota Farmers Markets looking for help to make sure vendors and customers can practice safe and sanitary practices during the Farmers Market season can apply for the new Minnesota Department of Agricultures new Safe at the Farmers Market Cost Share program. Eligible Farmers Markets can be reimbursed for up to $350 for the purchase of equipment that will help comply with the Guidance for Minnesota Farmers Markets and Vendors.

Some examples of equipment that would be eligible include additional tables to increase the distance between vendors and customers, handwashing stations, signage to communicate handwashing stations and social distancing, sanitation supplies to clean commonly touched surfaces, plus rope, fencing, tape and chalk to guide customers through the Farmers Market.

Applications will be accepted through May 31, 2020 or until all the funds are gone. The funds will be awarded on a first come first served basis. For more information or to get an application form go to the Minnesota Department of Agricultures web site: Safe at the Market Cost Share web page.
