The New Market Muskies travelled to Dundas Wednesday night and posted a 5-1 win.  Justin Firpo allowed 4 hits over 7 innings for the win and Derek Bergstrom threw two shutout innings.  Firpo had 5 strikeouts, 4 walks, Bergstrom 2 strikeouts, 1 walk.

Three pitchers took the mound for Dundas.  Derek Albers started the game and suffered the loss while throwing the first three innings with 4 hits allowed, 3 earned runs, 1 walk, 1 strikeout.  JT Engeswick went the next 4 innings with 2 hits allowed, 2 earned runs, 1 walk, 1 strikeout. Wilson Battle threw the final 2 innings with 1 hit allowed, 1 strikeout.

The Muskies scored 2 runs in the first inning, 1 run in the third inning and 2 runs in the fifth inning while connecting on 7 hits.

The Dukies lone run came in the bottom of the second inning.  There were no errors in the game.

For New Market shortstop Scott Lyden and third baseman Tony Vocca each had two hits.  Vocca collected 2 RBI.  Faribault High School graduate Nate Rost hit a two run double and had a sacrifice fly RBI.

Dundas had no players with a multiple hit night.  The four hits were stroked by Hayden Lanoue who also had the only RBI for the Dukes.  Wilson Battle had a double.  Adam Weed and Josh Maus.

Dundas falls to 13-6 and loses back to back games for the first time since mid May.

New Market is 18-2 with their schedule taking them to Lonsdale Friday and Faribault Sunday.  The Friday game first pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.  Sunday 2:00 p.m.
