A new five-story apartment building in downtown Owatonna is on schedule to open in June, according to the weekly e-newsletter from the Owatonna Area Chamber of Commerce and Tourism. The facility is a 54-unit luxury, market rate property and is located at 111 Vine Street. Learn more at the developer's website.

OACCT President Brad Meier offered this update about a downtown hotel project. The proposed hotel and restaurants would be built in the 200 block of North Cedar.

Meier indicates, "In the last year since the formation of the partnership, their market research indicates very favorable findings for profitability and sustainability of the project." He added, "The project in its current form has been moving forward for about a year, which is not a long time considering the details and agreements that need to be put together before it is all complete."

Meier is excited about what is happening downtown, "Additionally, the new 5 story apartment complex going up right now, the recently opened Torey’s Restaurant, the new Ace Hardware, and growing energy around downtown Owatonna indicates the right timing for this project that will continue growth downtown."

The OACCT Ambassadors group held ribbon cuttings with Farmers Insurance-Lindsday Macht at 116 E Broadway and Ecumen Home Care and Hospice at 634 W Bridge Street.
