The Moorhead Brewers had two pitchers combine to shut out the Northfield Knights 5-0 in an elimination bracket game at Delano today.  The Knights did not score a run in their final two games of the Class B Minnesota State Amateur Baseball Tournament.

Errors were costly for the Knights with 4 errors factoring in 4 of the runs.  Moorhead scored all their runs in the first two innings including a 4 run onslaught in the second.

Northfield right handed pitcher Quinn Ahern threw the first 7 innings, scattering 6 hits with 5 runs, 1 earned, 5 strikeouts, 4 walks, 1 hit batter.  Jackson Meland took the mound for the final two innings allowing 2 hits with 2 strikeouts, 1 walk while facing 8 batters.

The Knights had six singles, Tim Maus the only one with multiple hits.  The other players with hits were Nick Bornhauser, Tommy McDonald, Jake Mathison and Sam Maus.

Northfield placed second in the Classic Cannon Valley League during the regular season.  One game behind the Miesville Mudhens.  League members Miesville and Dundas are in the winner's bracket of the double elimination Class B State Tournament and play each other next weekend.
