Not Your Usual Dining Experience at This Pizza Farm in Waseca
There is nothing I like seeing more than the words summer season opener paired together. Summer is my jam! (Though I do freak out when I get too hot. Alas, I am a puzzle.)
Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm in Waseca is hosting its summer season opener this Sunday from 1-7 pm. Good Night Gold Dust Duo, a Mankato-based indie-electronic band, will be playing from 5-7 pm.
The Pizza Farm's weekly feature is a Hot Hawaiian pizza. It is a red sauce pizza with Canadian bacon, pineapple, jalapenos, maraschino cherries, and red pepper flakes.
(Now I personally don't enjoy pineapple on pizza, but I don't shame anyone who does, so do not attack me!)
The Farm is a 'clean farm' which means you will need to dispose of your own trash. AKA BRING A TRASH BAG! Pets are, unfortunately, not allowed.
Pleasant Grove Pizza Farm offers a very unique dining experience. In addition to a trash bag, you need to provide your own plates, cups, utensils, and seating (pro tip: I say pack a blanket and make it a picnic...it's less work). In other words, arrive prepared.
You need to pack your own beverages and alcohol (for those who are 21+). However, if that sounds like too much work, you can deliver beer from Half Pint Brewing Company.
This is definitely not your typical restaurant, but don't worry the place is worth it. The Farm is equipped with trails to walk and places to explore as well.
May hours are Fridays and Saturdays from 4-8 pm and Sundays from 1-7 pm.
