Last week MnDOT announced that it was inviting members of the public to an open house on Thursday, June 27 in Cannon Falls to learn about the latest updates for the reconstruction and safety improvements of southbound Highway 52 from south of Cannon Falls to just north of Zumbrota, according to a news release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The meeting will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., June 27 in the Cannon Falls City Hall council chambers, 918 River Rd with members of MnDOT and local legislators in attendance.

MnDOT has already planned for the project to begin in 2021.  Southbound Hwy 52 is going to be reconstructed beginning 2.2 miles south of Hwy 19 in Cannon Falls to 1.2 miles north of Goodhue County Road 7.

Part of the project will include replacing the Highway 60 bridge and also installing snow drift prevention measures.

If you plan on attending MnDOT wants you to know that there will be no formal presentation.
