It was early morning on the 4th of July that someone decided to light a minivan on fire that was parked outside of a home in South Minneapolis. The whole incident was caught on an outdoor security camera.

The video was posted by Libby Osterbauer, who in the post featuring the video, stated that the van was owned by her parents, and occurred "on the 52xx block of 15th Ave in South Mpls. The vehicle was totally destroyed and the tree & grass next to it caught fire as well."

The video shows another car sitting near the van, someone getting out of the backseat of the car and walking towards the van with something in their hands. It then looks like someone is poured on the back of the van and then that person opens the driver's side door and puts something inside. After that you see the light from a lighter or match begin to glow from being lit. The person slams the door closed and then the person runs into the car and they drive off.

It's not every day that someone's van is set on fire in the middle of the night. It looks like from the video that was shared that there were at least two people involved with the van fire, a driver and then the person who opened the door, lit the accelerant on fire and ran back into the car.

According to Minnesota Statute 609.563, the most likely that the van fire would fall under, Minnesota law states that whoever is responsible could face "imprisonment for not more than five years or to payment of a fine of $10,000, or both."

These are truly wild times in the Twin Cities, just recently a Minnesota reporter posted about seeing people shooting at each other in the car next to him on one of the busiest roads in Minneapolis.
