Owatonna Ice Rinks Open FridayFinally. Some good news. The ice skating rinks at Morehouse Park in Owatonna open for the season Friday, January 1. For everyone who got skates under the tree, here's your chance to put them to use without having to build a rink in your own backyard, which many people actually do every year anyway.

Hours are 11 am to 9:30 pm holidays and Saturdays, 12 pm to 9:30 pm Sundays, and 3 pm to 9:30 pm school days. Extra benches are set outside the chalet to use for changing into skates. The chalet is not available for use, but it appears the bathrooms are open, based on a note on the door.
