Owatonna High School announced the top five candidates for homecoming queen and king on Friday. A pep fest/coronation is scheduled for Friday, October 1 at the high school football field. Homecoming week activities begin on Monday, October 4.

After a year of virtual homecoming during distance learning and a drive-thru parade through downtown Owatonna, students, staff and community members can look forward to a regular-looking event in 2021. Though with the road construction happening in downtown Owatonna, the parade will take on a different route this year.

Top five Homecoming Queen candidates at OHS:

  • Ava Hess
  • Justice Holmes
  • Lainie Rahn

Top five Homecoming King candidates at OHS:

  • Grant Achterkirch
  • Connor Ginskey
  • Jackson Hemann
  • Preston Meier
  • Dylan Meiners

The other semifinals for queen and king were Janessa Moore, Olivia Herzog, Hillary Haarstad, Lexi Nelson, Lydia Nelson, Daniela Ortiz and Ave Wolfe for queen, and Lucas Jensen, Eli Knutson, Eli Spurgeon, Nick Williams, Taylor Bogen, Ty Creger and Lane Wagner for king.

Activities for homecoming week include sand volleyball, an outdoor movie, a Family Feud-style game show event and a dance. The football game on Friday, October 8 features the Huskies hosting Rochester John Marshall. It is also Tackle Cancer Night.

The parade route will begin at Elm Street and Park and end at Elm and School Street. It is scheduled for Friday, October 8 at 1:30 pm. See the parade route here.
