
Possible Highs of 50 On This First Day of Winter in SE Minnesota
La Crosse, WI (KROC AM News) - Some areas in southeast Minnesota could enjoy temperatures near 50 on this first day of winter.

The National Weather Service is forecasting highs between 45 and 50 - and the above-average weather will continue all week. High temps are expected to be around 40 through Christmas Day. Normal highs this time of the year are around 25 degrees.
The winter season began in SE Minnesota at 10:19 PM Saturday. Temperatures across the region at the time were still above freezing.
Rochester had a high of 36 on Friday, snapping a streak of below-freezing weather that began Dec 9th. It warmed to 37 on Saturday.
