Hopefully you have a blaze orange t-shirt ready to go for Saturday. The forecast for central Minnesota is sunny and 67, which is only a handful of degrees off from the record high for November 7th in Minnesota.

The record high for that day was set back in 1874 when it reached 72 degrees. If things change before the weekend, we could be close to breaking that record.

Hitting 70+ degrees in Minnesota during November isn't too uncommon. Over the past century, it has happened sporadically. In more recent years we saw a high of 74  on November 3rd, 2008, and a high of 73 on November 5th, 2016.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, the record low for November 7th was set a little more recently in 1991 when it was a blustery -6. I wouldn't want to be in a deer stand in that kind of weather, that's for sure.

I'm all for a warm deer hunting opener, it makes sitting outside all day a lot more pleasant. Though it does make harvesting a deer more challenging, as it won't be kept cool by Mother Nature. All hunters know that the sport doesn't come without it's challenges, and this is just the one we are dealing with this year during opening weekend. Don't worry, temps will be back down to the 30s and 40s by the second week of deer camp if you want to wait.
