Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One came from Bread's Baby I'm-a Want You album. This album, which topped out at No. 3 on the U.S. Billboard 200, produced four charting singles for them, including "Diary" hitting No. 15 on the  U.S. Billboard Hot 100, "Everything I Own" at No. 5, the title track at No. 3 and yesterday's Cool One, "Mother Freedom," coming in at No. 37. Baby I'm-a Want You was also their most successful album.

In my opinion, Bread is just one of the many examples of how success and too much time on the road together tends to strain relationships and create jealousy and rivalry between group members as friction between vocalist/songwriter David Gates and guitarist/songwriter Jimmy Griffin split the group up several times throughout the years.

Please check out today's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Street in Faribault. Today I feature another great hair metal band that was unfortunately involved in a massive tragedy in 2003. Make sure you're listening at 4:35PM to find out who it is.
