Last Friday's Power 96 Cool One came from a former Thin Lizzy guitarist, Gary Moore, off one of his many solo works, 1987's Wild Frontier. The title track is one of my favorite Gary Moore tunes, so I decided to use that as my Cool One. Although it charted well in Europe and Australia, it failed to make onto the charts in the U.S.

Moore was a member of several bands throughout his life, as well as being a successful solo artist until his death from a heart attack at age 58 on Feb. 6, 2011, while on holiday with his girlfriend in Spain. He was laid to rest in St. Margaret's Churchyard, Rottingdean, East Sussex, England. His time with Thin Lizzy was sporadic as Moore would replace guitarist Brian Robertson throughout his tenure with the band.

This afternoon's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts, comes your way an hour earlier, at 3:35 p.m., because of this afternoon's ballgame. Today I feature a band that has been called "America's Greatest Rock and Roll Band." Find out who it is today on Power 96.
