Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One came from Jane's Addiction. I tracked "Been Caught Stealing" from their 1990 album Ritual de lo Habitual. The single spent four weeks at No. 1 on the U.S. Modern Rock chart. It also peaked at No. 29 on the U.S. Mainstream Rock Tracks chart and No. 34 in the UK. The album, which was their final studio effort before the band broke up in 1991, made it to No. 19 on the U.S. Billboard 200 and No. 37 in the UK. Released on August 21, 1990, it was technically their second studio release but their third recorded effort because their first album, which was self-titled, was a live album. The band was hoping to capture the live intensity their fans were used to.

Today's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts on Seventh Streeet in Faribault, is a solo effort from a guitarist from an iconic band, who has been described by journalist Peter Hitchens as "a capering streak of living gristle who ought to be exhibited as a warning to the young of what drugs can do to you if you're lucky enough not to choke on your own vomit."
