Last Friday's Power 96 Cool One was Queen's "One Vision" from their 1986 album A Kind of Magic. Based on the Highlander movie soundtrack, the album was their 12th studio release and went to No. 46 on the U.S. Billboard 200. It went to No. 1 on the UK Album charts in the first week of it's release and remained on the chart for 63 weeks. The single "One Vision" charted at No. 61 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 and No. 7 in the UK.

The album yielded three hits, "One Vision," "Friends Will Be Friends" and the title track, "A Kind of Magic," although my favorite song on the album is "Who Wants to Live Forever." I find it to be a powerfully moving song filled with passion that seems to foreshadow Freddie Mercury's death of complications from AIDS in 1991.

Today's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, features a big hair band that replaced its original bassist with a shorter one because he didn't fit with their look. Find out who it is at 4:35PM today on Power 96.
