Power 96 Cool One Recap: The Guess Who

Yesterday's Power 96 Cool One came from a Canadian band out of Winnipeg, Manitoba. After several name changes including Allen and the Silvertones and Chad Allen and the Reflections, the group eventually settled on The Guess Who after a promotional stunt by the record company, which used that name to promote their latest single. For the Cool One, I tracked "Hand Me Down World" from their 1970 album Share the Land. The single reached No. 10 in Canada and No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100.

One of the members of The Guess Who, Randy Bachman, has also had success with his own band, Bachman-Turner-Overdrive and the short-lived Ironhorse, which I have featured as a Cool One as well.
