Remember last Friday? I played a track on the Power 96 Cool One by The Knack that didn't sound one bit like "My Sharona" called "Rocket O' Love." The song actually had a Queen 80's pop sound crossed with Billy Squier feel to me. "Rocket O' Love" was a hit single for The Knack after a long dry spell for them, reaching No. 9 on the U.S. Billboard Mainstream Rock chart. Apparently the album the single came from, Serious Fun, failed to chart in the United States but managed to go to the No. 56 on the Canadian charts.

In 2006, lead singer Doug Fieger was diagnosed with two brain tumors after experiencing trouble remembering words, disorientation and a dull headache during a show in Las Vegas. He underwent surgery and treatment and continued performing while continuing to fight brain and lung cancer, finally passing away at age 57 on February 14, 2010.

Today's Power 96 Cool One, brought to you by Kelly's Auto Parts in Faribault, features a band that originally formed using the name Daddy in 1969. Find out who they are at 4:35PM today on Power 96.
