The Rice County Steam and Gas Engine Club will be hosting the 12th Annual Minnesota Military Days this weekend June 5, 2021 and June 6. 2021 on their showgrounds located just south of Northfield on Highway 3. The gates will be open 10:00 am to 5:00 pm Saturday and 10:00 am to 3:00 pm on Sunday. Admission is $8.00 with a non-perishable food item, $10 without. Ages 7-12 is $6.00, kids under 7 and World War II Veterans are free.

Last year of course the Minnesota Military Days was canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic. There were a couple years before that it was canceled because of rain and thunderstorms. So, it was scheduled a little later this year as they were hoping for better weather. It looks like the plan worked because the forecast looks very good for this weekend, a little warm but sunny.

The Minnesota Military Weekend will be educational and fun for the whole family. It will include reenactors from many different time periods, military vehicles, authors, veterans, military swap meet, World War II themed battles, Civil War artillery, and weapons demonstrations. There will also be food and refreshments available. For more information go to the website ricecountysteamand gas.com.
