Good news and bad news folks. The bad news is the River Bend Nature Center's Maple Syrup Fun Run will be a virtual race. The good news? You've got plenty of time to get it finished as the virtual race will go until May 1st.

The River Bend Nature Center sent out a press release this morning about the upcoming fun run, which is also a fundraiser for the nature center. According to the press release:

"As a participant you get to run anytime-from when you register through Saturday, May 1.  Complete the race with friends or family-6 feet apart, a stroller, or a dog, it’s up to you. You can run, walk, use a treadmill, or even cross country ski! The 5K is 3.1 miles; 10K is 6.2 miles; 25K is 15.53 miles; and the 50K is 31.06 miles. If you want to run at River Bend, the previous year's course maps are on the race website. The courses will not be marked. All registrants receive a commemorative t-shirt which can be mailed to you for a $5 shipping fee."

Since you've got almost 4 months to get the race done, you could do a couple of miles a week and go for the 50K, but no one likes a show-off...just kidding more power to you if you can do that much. Participants will get a t-shirt. Registration for the race will go until April 14th.

It's a $40 registration fee, that will go towards "support[ing] environmental education, outdoor recreation, and natural resource conservation." according to the press release.

You can register for the race online here, or if you have questions you can call 507.332.7151
