Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - A man charged with murdering two men at a downtown Rochester apartment building has been found competent to stand trial. The case against 54-year-old Glenn Johnson was put on hold in late April when a judge ordered a psychological evaluation shortly after the Olmsted County Grand Jury issued a first-degree murder indictment against the Rochester man.

Johnson is now scheduled to make a court appearance on August 21st, where he is expected to request an evidentiary hearing. He was arrested the night of March 17th after Rochester police were sent to the Salvation Army’s Castleview Apartment building along North Broadway and found two residents had been stabbed to death. 57-year-old Phillip Hicks and 45-year-old Eric Flemming were neighbors of Johnson and had been involved in a verbal altercation shortly before the deadly knife attack.

Johnson is currently being held in the Olmsted County Adult Detention Center on $3-million bail.
