Rochester, MN(KROC AM News) - The man charged in a triple murder case in Rochester is now being held in the Olmsted County jail.

Records indicate 26-year-old Renard Carter arrived at the facility late Thursday after being transferred from South Carolina.

Police say Carter left Rochester after the murders of his girlfriend, their unborn child and her 2-year-old daughter. The murders were discovered Sept 13 in an apartment at Olympik Village. Police say Carter had been living with the victims.

He reportedly went to S. Carolina to kill a former girlfriend. He was shot by police in Columbia, SC when he refused to drop a gun. After a few days in the hospital, Carter was jailed there until this week.

The criminal complaint filed in the Rochester murder case indicates Carter apparently recorded the strangulation death of his girlfriend and posted the video on social media.

He is facing three counts of 2nd-degree murder. It’s not known when he will be arraigned.
