Sage Glass Makes Pitch For Rice County Public Safety Building
During a Committee of The Whole/Work Session today of Rice County Commissioners at the Government Services Building in Faribault Sage Glass made a presentation.
Timothy Finnley told Commissioners they would love to install their electronically tintable window product in the new Public Safety Center.
Finnley explained Sage has been able to work with some local buildings like Buckham West and Shattuck-St. Mary's.
Commissioner Steve Underdahl of Faribault works in construction and told colleagues he worked with Sage when they first arrived in the community in 2010. Underdahl called it a "product that works."
The Sage Glass representative added it is more expensive than traditional glass.
He more than hinted in order to be part of the community the company would provide a discount.
Commissioner Dave Miller was sold if it can be done within the budget scope of the project.
No word on the timeline for making a decision concerning the Sage presentation. The Faribault facility is North America Headquarters for the Switzerland-based company.
Would you take some of these away? What would you replace them with?
