Some beautiful photos were taken this last week along Minnesota's North Shore Scenic Drive. Recent weather kicked up enough waves to spray water along the North Shore of Lake Superior. The spray or mist then froze to trees, creating stunning frozen sculptures that were captured by motorists who happened to notice them.

Missy and her husband Mike were driving back from Two Harbors to Duluth when something caught their eye. They pulled over on the side of the North Shore Scenic Highway just miles out of Duluth. They walked to the shoreline and snapped some amazing shots.

It looks like something from Disney's Frozen! The sun shining down definitely added to the beauty. The sunny day was a nice break from all of the snow and frigid temperatures we've had lately.

As you can see, the ice kept accumulating and made even small twigs turn into finger-like formations.

These photos were taken just a couple of miles north of Brighton Beach. If you look close, you can actually see Duluth's Aerial Lift Bridge on the Horizon.

Seeing photos like this gives us an appreciation for Lake Superior in all seasons. These rocks look like glazed donuts!

I'm glad that Missy saw this and took the time to hike through the snow to get to the lake and take pictures. Lord knows with all the snow we've already got this year, it had to be a hike. It was worth it though, as these are definitely worth sharing!
