The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch in effect until 9:00 pm for portions of southern Minnesota -- including Dakota, Dodge, Goodhue, Rice, and Scott counties.

Frequent lightning, heavy rain, large hail, and damaging winds will be possible in and near the watch area.
