In a press release Tuesday, November 24 from Minnesota Secretary of State Steve Simon, he states, "I'm proud to officially announce that for the third election in a row, Minnesota voters were number in the nation in voter turnout." The release, which can be read in a posting on the KAAL-TV website, indicates that 3,292,997 votes were cast.

Simon added, "This election was like no other in Minnesota history. The pandemic meant administering the 2020 section using a public health and safety lens." He emphasized voting at home and reports that about 58-percent of voters did just that. The previous high was 24-percent two years ago.

The release says, "There was no lack of election judges, which other states faced. There was no report of violence of intimidation, as some had feared. There were no credible allegations of voter fraud."

The State Canvassing Board met Tuesday and certified Joe Biden won the U. S. Presidential election in the state. The board also "certified results for the eight U. S. House of Representatives races and state legislative and judicial offices."
