If you have always been fascinated by the weather this Saturday (10/20) is the day for you. A free public forum looking at the tornadoes and severe wind that hit Le Sueur, Waseca, Rice, and Steele counties on Sept. 20 and a Skywarn training session will be held at Buckham West (formerly Faribault Area Senior Center).

The forum will be from 2-4 p.m. and feature Todd Krause, who is the warning coordination meteorologist for the National Weather Service in Chanhassen, Jarrod Schoenecker, president of Twin Cities Meteorologist Society and a lead trainer and board member with Metro Skywarn, members of the various municipalities emergency management team, public safety and/or other officials from the area affected by the Sept 20th tornadoes and storms.

Krause will be discussing how the warnings that went out and he will also review what happened that day.

Schoenecker will be talking about some of the information and lead times that were available in advance to these storms happening, as well as sharing some videos and photos from that day and of the damage afterward.
