Wisconsin Small Business Owner Pens Honest 'Now Hiring' Post

A small business owner in Hudson Wisconsin posted a brilliantly humorous and brutally honest Facebook post looking for help with his business. The post, which is about finding part-time help, which right now if you own a business or work someplace that is hiring you know it's tough right now to find candidates. The owner states what it is he is looking for and offers up that by helping him "you'll be helping a family business grow, you'll make some money and you'll get your ass off the couch, your eyes will focus on something other than a computer screen and you'll get the satisfaction of knowing that you made a difference in someone's day."

Damon Holter who owns Croix Valley Foods, a company that specializes in rubs and sauces for barbeques and is based in Hudson, Wisconsin, took to social media yesterday to find some help in making his orders and growing his family business. The post is refreshingly honest, candid, and could probably be shared by every small business in the US right now.

Holter states at the beginning of his post that he is going to 'try something different' in his approach to finding some part time help.

We are extremely busy at Croix Valley and have had no luck getting qualified applicants for positions I need filled in production on a full-time basis, so I'm asking going a different route here to see if anyone can simply spare a few hours here and there to help us produce award-winning bbq sauces, dry rubs, salsas, hot sauces and Bloody Mary mixes. You'll sweat a little, your back might hurt, you'll go home smelling like spices, but you'll be helping a family business grow, you'll make some money and you'll get your ass off the couch, your eyes will focus on something other than a computer screen and you'll get the satisfaction of knowing that you made a difference in someone's day. All I ask is that you don't be a jerk, you show up when you say you will and you work well with others. Come try it out for a day and if it doesn't suit you, cool, no hard feelings. If it breaks up your time between episodes of Judge Judy and Jerry Springer, then we both win. DM me if you're interested or know someone who is. This doesn't need to be a full time or part time job it just needs to be some folks who can spare some time, from time to time, that can help us when we need it (plus, I'd like to go home sometime and sleep one day). With so many openings right now companies are turning towards large sign-on bonuses as well as getting extremely creative to attract talent and workers, but that's for mostly full-time labor the part-time labor market is just as tight with employers turning towards higher hourly wages to attract quality workers to fill the positions.
