Southern Minnesota Police Department Seeking Donations For Its ‘Lost Dog’ Kennel
The West Concord Police Department is looking to the community for assistance in collecting enough items for their dog kennel, where lost dogs are brought until they are either returned to their owner or the dog is brought to another area/shelter.
Some of the things that the West Concord Police Department is looking for, to make the lost dog comfortable, would be some of the following items:
- Bedding and Blankets
- Towels
- Kennels
- Food and Water Bowls
- Unopened Food for all Dog Sizes
- Toys
- Treats
- Leashes and Collars
- Cleaning Supplies
- Plastic Storage Bins
This is a great idea that a local police department has decided to implement! It is also an easy project that a local service club or scout group could work towards fundraising by taking donations on a regular basis too!
According to the post if you are interested in assisting with any or all of the items you should either give them a call at (507) 527-2870 or talk to Officer Hoberg.
Reaction to the post has been positive, with the post being shared more than 20 times, and community members asking questions about other ways to help.
Unfortunately for those with cats, the West Concord Department isn't equipped for found cats at this point, but maybe sometime in the future, another local entity would be interested in assisting with any found cats in the community.
