Bethlehem Academy

Thursday night the Bethlehem Academy Cardinal boys basketball team managed to come back against the tough Goodhue Wildcats. Friday night as they were down against the Buccaneers, they tried really hard but could not get ahead this time.

B.A. was without starters, Jack Clark and Alex Bongers. So others had to step up and play more and longer during the game.

It's the first time the Cardinals have not made the championship match when they've been at the State Volleyball Tournament. In 12 previous trips 5 runner-up trophies and 7 state titles.

The Cardinals captured the first set 25-17 and the second set 25-11 before the Tigers won the third set 27-25 and Bethlehem Academy sealed the victory with a 25-20 fourth set win.

Over the years Bob and Sue Erpenbach have done a lot for Bethlehem Academy. Bob helped coach and Sue worked for B.A. until recently. On October 2, Bob was diagnosed with Metastatic Pancreatic Cancer. Sadly Bob passed away on Friday.

Friday night the Bethlehem Academy Cardinal football team traveled to Hayfield to face the win less Vikings.. Hayfield is having a difficult year with only 22 players out for the team and they only dressed 17 on Friday night.

It was the Battle for the Paddle at Bruce Smith field in Faribault on Friday night as the 1-1 Cardinals of B.A. faced the 0-2 Medford Tigers.

Friday night the Bethlehem Academy Cardinals(1-1) go up against the Medord Tigers (0-2) in the Battle for the Paddle Trophy at Bruce Smith Field. Coverage starts about 6:45pm on KDHL, The Mighty 920 and kdhlradio.com.

The sun was out off and on and it was a bit breezy at times at Todd Park in Austin and it was a great atmosphere for a section softball playoff game on Tuesday. The Faribault Academies Cardinals were the visiting team and were able to get Tess Glenzinski on with a walk in the first and a base hit from Breanna DeGrood...

On a great afternoon for some section baseball at Thompson Park in Wells, the Cardinals saw their season come to an end as the rebels won 6-2. Luke Donkers went the distance and took the loss. I had him for 84 pitches, three strikeouts, two walks and the Rebels getting 12 hits off him, and I had the Cardinals for four errors ...
